Neurath X is an expressive geometric typeface that explores how far geometric reduction can be taken while preserving clarity and usability. Developed alongside Neurath, the collection’s proportional counterpart, it builds upon the same reinterpretation of Paul Renner’s Futura while drawing inspiration from experimental geometric projects such as Herbert Bayer’s Universal alphabet and Herb Lubalin’s ITC Ronda.
Rather than treating geometry as a historical style, Neurath X reconsiders it as an evolving design system. Conventional forms have been simplified, reconstructed, and optically refined to create a typeface with a more distinctive voice. The result is a family that feels both experimental and surprisingly natural, balancing systematic construction with everyday usability.
The family includes 18 styles from Thin to Black and a comprehensive set of OpenType features. A large collection of stylistic alternates allows designers to fine-tune the typeface’s character, ranging from restrained geometric forms to more radical interpretations inspired by early modernist experiments.
Despite its expressive appearance, Neurath X was designed as a complete type system. Careful spacing, optical refinements, and extensive language support ensure consistent performance across branding, editorial design, interfaces, packaging, and display typography, making it equally suited to conceptual work and contemporary visual identities
