Elizabeth Hernández is a Chilean type designer with a passion for detail and a love for typographic nostalgia. Trained in Communication Sciences at Universidad Mayor, she has been General Manager at Latinotype since 2015, leading the foundry’s operations and working closely with partners around the world.
Alongside her management role, she designs her own typefaces, including Jazmín, Hernández Bros and Juana. She often finds inspiration in old type specimens, rescuing unique details and giving them a personality of their own. Juana is a bestseller that has been used by brands as varied as financial institutions and egg carton packaging. Today she lives in Santiago, Chile, where she also writes illustrated books for children.
