The Neurath Collection expands. Neurath Mono is a geometric monospaced typeface that reconsiders the conventions of fixed-width typography through a more open and approachable design. Developed alongside Neurath, the collection’s proportional counterpart, it builds on the same reinterpretation of Paul Renner’s Futura while adapting it to the constraints of a monospaced system.
Unlike many monospaced typefaces, Neurath Mono features an increased x-height and carefully balanced proportions, allowing round forms and generous spacing to coexist within a fixed-width structure. The result is a typeface that feels more open and less compressed while maintaining the precision expected from monospaced design.
The family includes 18 styles from Thin to Black and a comprehensive set of OpenType features. Stylistic alternates, fractions, and arrows provide the flexibility required for interface design, branding, editorial typography, coding environments, and display use.
To improve readability in text sizes, punctuation and diacritics were drawn slightly larger than usual, increasing clarity in continuous reading. At larger sizes, these details become a distinctive feature of the design, contributing to the family’s character without dominating the overall composition.
